Love Confidential: Everybody Got Time for That!

Love Confidential: Everybody Got Time for That!

Some of ATL's Finest stepped out Friday March 1st to give their views and opinions on LoveLove Relations and its current state. The event was held at the comfy, "Peter Maxfield's House of Fashion" in the heart of Buckhead and was certainly a brow raising, ear popping joust of opinions.

The event was hosted by the charismatic C. Chandon Carter and MC of the night for the sexes was the jocular play-writer T.Y. Martin, who set the tone for a mouth dropping, awe filled & insightful Love forum!

The panel was chock full of professional & powerful love & relationship experts, from the dapper Life Coach and Relationship Author Jevon "Vawn" Sims, Super Producer Jazze Pha, veracious Author & Speaker Cheron K. Griffin, sophisticated Match Maker Rebecca Lynn, and the gracious Clinical Psychologist & Columnist Dr. Sherry Blake and many more!

The DJ's music was jamming while the venue was packed to capacity with sexy, beautiful men and women ready to fill their knowledge cup with the answers to their inquiries. T. Y. Martin pitched questions around about fidelity or the lack thereof, the qualities of mates, and the ongoing infamous issue of Atlanta’s sex ratio and the reality of the ills that affect a society struggling with knowledge of self and reciprocating love!
It was refreshing to hear the advice & opinion of Life Coach Jevon "Vawn" Sims on the subject matter of quality of mates.  He offered sound advice to the ladies in the crowd complaining about not finding good men by stating, "You are either a bad picker or a bad pick"! It was hard to argue his point, so all you heard were "umms & aahs".
Then things got a bit heavy and downright real when T.Y.  Martin read an excerpt out of Author Cheron K. Griffin's book 3PM, The Preacher, the Power, the Penis & Me "I often hear about the women who sit in the front row with no panties on trying to entice the men of God while they're preaching". Audience members listened with attentiveness as she explained the foul play of the "Church" and the scandalous acts that are attached to some faiths.
At intermission everyone had a chance to mix, mingle and network and I had the fortunate opportunity to snag a few interviews as well. I was able to huddle with Super Producer Jazze Pha and ask him what he thought the state of love and more specifically Black Love is and this was his take, "I believe love is in distress & people have a vague concept of what it really means".  Taking a deep breath, he said, "We have to spend time, I think cellphones, social networks, it's in a different place right now, everybody wants to microwave this thing, we need to get really therapeutic with it again and get to know each other again". In the words of Jazze Pha, "Oh Boy!", did he hit the issue right on the head.
The conversations and advice were enough to wonder what is next and when can I attend the next one! I plan to be at the next "Love Confidential" in April and I hope to see you there too!
If you missed this one don't fret he has them once a month and the next event is on April 5th, same location.
